Youth of the Month-August 2015

Brad Teter
Sprague Clubhouse

Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County (BGCPC) announced that Brad Teter is the Club’s August Youth of the Month. The Youth of the Month honor is earned by one member each month in recognition of their strong leadership, good character, and commitment to service.

Brad has been a member of the Sprague Clubhouse for six years and is a sophomore at Central High School. Brad excels at the Club and in school. He has been a 4.0 honor roll student throughout both middle and high school, and earned an academic letter last year for achieving a 4.0 for four consecutive semesters. Brad is a proud member of the Central High School basketball team and has served as the Vice-President of the Sprague Clubhouse’s Keystone Club.

Brad was also hired as a Junior Staff member this summer. He was selected because of his work ethic, kindness, and respect for others. When Club staff need assistance, he’s the first to offer a helping hand and his peers often follow suit. Brad has jumped in to serve snack to Club members when staff need to talk with parents or visitors. Every night he is at the Club, he helps the staff clean and get the Club ready to close. He attends every teen service project and completes a minimum of 20 hours of community service a month to his Club and community.

Brad has a wonderful personality and is a respectful young man who gets along with nearly everybody. Even if Brad has a challenging day, he comes to the Club with a smile because he says the Club environment is a refuge and inspires him to be positive. His peers look up to him because they know they can trust him. Brad is also known for his caring heart because he does not like to see people left out. Younger Club members shared that they see Brad as a true role model because he tells everyone to always stay who they are and never change just to fit in.

Brad Teter states, “The Club is like a second home to me, not only does it make me feel happy it makes me feel like I have a better future awaiting me.”

As a Youth of the Month honoree, Brad is eligible to compete in Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County’s 2016 Youth of the Year competition, which provides several scholarships and leadership opportunities. Print Pros is proud to be BGCPC’s August’s Youth of the Month Sponsor. If you would like to congratulate Brad, you may do so by emailing club@bgcpueblo.org.
