Cheryls’s career with Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County began as a Career Coordinator 2005. Since beginning her career with the Club, she has held the positions of Career Coordinator, and Health Outreach Coordinator.  

Prior to joining the Boys & Girls Club Family, Cheryl held positions as a Preschool Lead Teacher and in management for a national retail chain. In addition to Cheryl’s work at BGCPC, she also serves as a coach and mentor to 19 BGCPC middle school aged girls through the Club’s Girls Rock Volleyball team. Through the volleyball league Cheryl has volunteered numerous hours to assist leagues with refereeing, score keeping and league registrations. She is also the founder of the Latina Sorority Sigma Lambda Gamma–Kappa Alpha Chapter at Colorado State University.

Cheryl is a proud graduate of Pueblo Central High School and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Colorado State University – Fort Collins, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University – Pueblo, and is currently work towards a Masters in Educational Counseling.

Every time Cheryl hears or sees a Boys & Girls Club National Public Service Announcements she can resonate with the message, because she witnesses great things daily at the Club. Cheryl truly believes in the BGCPC’s mission in helping transform the lives of disadvantaged youth. She always knew from a young age she wanted to have a career in youth development and working with kids not only inspires Cheryl but it pushes her to give her all so she can build a good foundation for Club youth to be successful in their own lives.
