Jennifer Mullen, Board Chair

Jennifer became a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County’s Board of Directors in June 2013.

She brings years of both personal and professional nonprofit expertise to the Board. Her professional background includes over 20 years as professor and department chair in Mass Communications at Colorado State University-Pueblo, most recently retiring as Chief of Staff at the university. Before that she was the first executive director of the nationally precedent-setting nonprofit, the Pueblo Child Advocacy Center. In that role, she was the recipient of El Pomar Joel A. H. Webb Award for Excellence in Health Care in 1989, the first year the award was given. At Colorado State University-Pueblo, she was part of the team that established the first minor in Nonprofit Administration and served as both instructor and advisor to students in the minor.

She is an advocate for the Club because she believes so strongly in the mission that is evidenced everyday with impactful and measurable programs. The future goals of the Club can only be realized through a collaborative effort between the Board of Directors, professional Club staff, and the community. Ms. Mullen believes that facilitating that partnership is vital in her role as a Board member. Every time she meets a Club kid she’s even more dedicated to my role as a Board member.
