Brianna Martinez
Sprague Clubhouse

Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County (BGCPC) announced that Brianna Martinez is the Club’s September Youth of the Month. The Youth of the Month honor is earned by one member each month in recognition of their strong leadership, good character, and commitment to service.

Brianna has been a member of BGCPC for more than 10 years. She is a sophomore at East High School where she is a member of the varsity cheerleading team and maintains a 4.1 grade point average. Brianna is an IB student with a goal of attending Colorado State University – Fort Collins. She is a teen leader and enjoys the responsibility of being a role model for numerous kids, and she pushes herself to be all she can be. Younger Club members look up to Brianna and her peers know that they can always turn to her for help. She is a positive role model for all Club members.

This exceptional young lady is a wonderful public speaker and has been able to build upon her speaking skills by actively participating in Club programs. Brianna has served as Vice President of Torch Club and currently is an active participant in Keystone Club. She was also a member of the Club’s Girls Rock Volleyball team for three years and worked hard to become one of the league’s best defensive middle back players. Brianna received recognition for outstanding sportsmanship from the league’s coaches each year she was part of the league.

Brianna is passionate about giving back to her community and is always one of the first members to volunteer. She appreciates how much the Club has instilled the importance of community service in her life because she knows that it’s something she will continue to do throughout her life. Brianna remembers playing Bingo at a senior center and says the experience of spending time with residents of the Center changed her life. This past summer, Brianna completed numerous hours of community service and encouraged her peers to join her.

Brianna views her peers at the Club as family. She says that long after her time at the Club is over, the friendships and memories made at the Club will hold a special place in her heart. “The Club is my home away from home, it melts my heart to have all the little ones around as I strive to be the best example I can be for them and the best person I can be for me!”

As a Youth of the Month honoree, Brianna is eligible to compete in Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County’s 2016 Youth of the Year competition, which provides several scholarships and leadership opportunities. ¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬¬The Party Zone is proud to be the September Youth of the Month Sponsor.
