YOM

Recognition is one of Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County’s key elements of positive youth development.
The Youth of the Month program enables program staff from each of BGCPC’s Clubhouses to nominate and recognize youth from their Clubs who demonstrate good character, strong leadership, and a commitment to service.

Every nominee is recognized and celebrated at their Clubhouse, and then each Clubhouse submits their final nominations. The nominations are reviewed by an external selection committee, and members of the committee select one winner from each age category.

Once a Club member has been nominated, they become eligible to complete for one of BGCPC’s Top Honors: Kid of the Year, Junior Youth of the Year, or Youth of the Year. These prestigious awards are presented at the Annual Champions of Youth Dinner.

The Youth of the Month is also recognized in the following ways:
• Advertisements in The Pueblo Chieftain and Pueblo Events publications;
• An article in The Pueblo Chieftain; and
• Commercials on Comcast.
