Jayz came into Club very shy and quiet. It did not take long for him to blossom as a member. Jayz’s first language is Spanish so he had a hard time communicating with other members when he first started. Jayz quickly learned that other members of the Club appreciate everyone from different cultures and backgrounds. This has helped Jayz learn more English and has helped him to participate in different programs. 

Jayz shows commitment to the Club by coming every day. He does not like missing a day of Club! He enjoys helping the staff and helping his friends. His friends at Club have helped Jayz learn new words and this has helped him succeed. Jayz is ready to start back to school because he feels more comfortable with speaking English and this helps him make more friends. 

Jayz stated “I want to make the world a better place by helping other kids who only speak Spanish learn more. The Boys & Girls Club has also taught me more English and this helps with my school work”
