She was very shy when she first came to the Club. During Freshmen Bootcamp at her high school, she was in a group with a Boys & Girls Club staff who promoted the Club. She decided to join afterwards. She was very quiet and would stop by the Club, talk to staff, and then leave for the day. As the time went on, she started to open up and wanted to attend teen nights and Friday events. 

During her time at The Club Mia has become a leader. She will also encourage others to participate in various activities and programs that the Club has to offer. She loves trying new things at the Club and speaks highly of her involvement. She demonstrates good character by wanting to try new things at the Club. She is always willing to help out the staff at the Club or at any out of center events. She thanks the staff after every event for giving her the opportunities that she wouldn't have had otherwise. 

When asked how the Club makes her life better Mia stated "I have met more people. It's a place for me to go after school. I have been given opportunities that I would have never been able to do before"
