Youth of the Month 
Alesia participated in Girls Rock and Destination Imagination. Through those experiences it was obvious how much it made that uncomfortable feeling helped her find a sense of belonging amongst her peers. She made new friends and though she still can be timid, we have seen her go from not wanting to share her thoughts during programs to being the first to raise her hand and participate.

Alesia is always willing to help whether it is her peers, her sibling/cousins, and even staff. She is often one of the first to volunteer to help with anything that she can. Her kindness is one of the first things you notice when you meet her for the first time. Alesia demonstrates daily many great qualities not limited to integrity, empathy, courage, accountability and adaptability to name a few.
She truly embodies what it means to be a part of the Boys and Girls Club and the impact that our program can have on the youth in our community!

“I plan to make the world a better place by spreading kindness and being a good person. My dream is to one day be a therapist or mental health counselor. Through this I hope I can make a difference in people’s lives.”
