Mauricio first started with the movement in 2015 as a program aide in The Boys & Girls Club of the San Luis Valley. In 2016, Mauricio started his career with the Boys and Girls Club of Pueblo County and has been with the Club ever since. Throughout these three years, Mauricio has had the privilege to hold the positions of the Director of Friday Only Site, program substitute, Van and Fleet Manager, Part time and Full time Program Coordinator, and currently serves as the Sprague Clubhouse Director.

In 2014, Mauricio graduated from Center High School located in the rural community of Center, CO. After high school, he attended Trinidad State Junior College and Pueblo Community College where he would eventually graduate from and earn his Associate of Arts Degree with a psychology designation. Mauricio was the first person in his immediate family to graduate from College, which made the moment, mean so much more. 

Through numerous mentors here at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County, he has gained much knowledge and owe much gratitude. What started as a job has now become a career and he said that he owes it all to the club members that make each day special in its own unique way.
