Selina Valdez, was born in Colorado Springs and raised by her grandparents. She is the oldest of 7 siblings. She is a proud graduate of Widefield High School in Colorado Springs and graduated in 2016 from UCCS Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and an emphasis in Forensic Science. She has been involved in many organizations throughout her community such as: co-instructor of Ballet Folklórico de La Raza in Colorado Springs, Latina Voices in Colorado Springs, Associate Member Educator of her fraternity; Alpha Psi Lambda, and Colorado State Fair Fiesta Court for four years.

She began working with youth in 2014 at the Family Development Center- UCCS as the photographer. She moved to Pueblo in 2016 and began working at the Buell Children’s Museum. She began her career with Boys & Girls Clubs of Pueblo County in 2017. She has worked in many different roles within her first 2 years at the organization.

She is currently the Emotional Wellness Coordinator, where she works with teens in Pueblo County and their social-emotional skills. 

She spends her days off with her husband Adam, her cat Butterscotch, and her dog Holmes. She enjoys family time, coffee, and makeup!
